📦 Packaging Tips to Ensure Your Shipments Arrive Safely
Whether you’re shipping small or large products, proper packing and packaging are the first line of defense to protect goods from potential risks during transit. The longer the shipping time, the more important it is to follow protection standards.
Here are some tips to help you prepare your shipments in the best way to ensure they arrive safely.
🛍 First: Small Shipments (up to 60 kg)
These shipments are usually transported by air or land and require careful protection:
Choose a new, sturdy cardboard box instead of bags or reused boxes.
Fill empty spaces inside the box (5–8 cm on each side) with bubble wrap, paper, or Styrofoam to protect contents from impact.
Use strong packing tape on all seams to ensure the box remains sealed throughout the journey.
Place clear labels with the sender’s and recipient’s addresses, weight, and special instructions such as “Fragile” or “This Side Up.”
📦 Second: Large Shipments
Such as appliances, industrial equipment, or sports gear, which require special care:
Use thick corrugated cardboard boxes or wooden crates that can withstand weight and stacking.
Add dense padding (Styrofoam or firm foam) around the product to protect it from any impact.
Avoid excessive weight: split heavy shipments into multiple packages or place them on a pallet for easier handling by forklifts.
Ensure contents are secured inside the box before sealing, so they don’t move during transport.
🍶 Third: Fragile Items (Glass, Ceramics, etc.)
These products need extra care:
Wrap the product first with paper, then with multiple layers of bubble wrap, ensuring full coverage of all parts.
Place a cushioning layer at least 5 cm thick at the bottom of the box, then the product, then fill the remaining gaps with protective material.
Use high-quality containers and strong packing tape to seal seams securely.
📐 Fourth: Irregularly Shaped Products
Such as spare parts, furniture, rugs:
Wrap protruding parts with polystyrene or extra cardboard.
Place large items inside a sturdy wooden or cardboard box with proper cushioning.
For rolled goods such as rugs, wrap them in plastic and place them inside a cardboard box.
For bottles, use dividers to prevent them from colliding with each other.
🔹 Remember: Good packaging isn’t just about appearance — it’s an investment that protects your goods and saves you from losses. Every protective layer adds safety to your shipment and increases the chances of it arriving 100% intact.
